Our Community
UUFSD is fortunate to be part of North County, San Diego, one of the most interesting and pleasant places to live. The coastline, the Mediterranean climate, the outdoor sports like surfing and biking, and the big-city attractions such as the Zoo, Balboa Park, and the La Jolla Playhouse—all combine to make North County a considerable attraction to potential ministers.
At the same time, there are many social challenges due to the border location and the immigrant crisis, a major homelessness problem, income inequality, and an affordable housing crisis. Both the good and the not-so-good about our location offer hearty fare for a potential minister to get involved in.
