Many Faces of Public Safety, A Free Mental Health Event

Social Justice Action at UUFSD is a proud co-sponsor of the “Many Faces of Public Safety – A Free Mental Health Event” organized by Lived Experiences, a non profit social justice organization in Oceanside. The conference will be held at the Star Theater in Oceanside. The venue is filling up quickly. To ensure your seat, please register for free at https://www.livedexperiences.org/mentalhealth2022.
The event will approach the issue with “A new idea. A new perspective. A new approach.” It will go beyond the superficial need of needing more police presence in communities to prevent public disturbance by uncovering an innovative approach to improving universal safety via the understanding of mental health through the visions of NGOs, government bodies and educational leaders.

Many of our members will remember the Sunday Service which featured Oscarin Ortega, the founder of Lived Experiences which has a mentoring service for youth, a food pantry for the working families in need, a mobile laundry for the homeless and a youth center which is an outlet for youth and adults to engage in recreational, emotional, educational, and artistic programming.

The conference will be held at the Star Theater in Oceanside on August 10, 2022.
