Happy News—Our Endowment is Activated!

The UUFSD Endowment Fund was set up to support UU values and UUFSD projects with grants from endowment income. This week, the Endowment’s value reached $100,000, thanks to recent legacies from the estates of Michelle Devore and Joy Naughton. With this milestone, the Endowment is permitted under our by-laws to start distributing annual grants!

The first grants will be made around July, 2021, under procedures that the congregation previously voted into our by-laws. We will inform you as the process unfolds, so members/committees may propose grants. The Endowment is required to be invested in socially conscious investments.

Many thanks to our Legacy Society, comprised of donors who made a gift during their lifetime or designated the Fellowship in their estate. Their names are posted on the Endowment Plaque in the library. And many thanks in particular to Caroline DeMar, who has driven this process over many years.

Please join the Legacy Society to keep our Endowment growing, by making a current gift or pledging a donation from your estate. See the website under Giving, or speak with a member of the Planned Giving Committee—Caroline DeMar, Mark Tuller, Chris Butler, plannedgiving@uufsd.org
