Memoirs can be revealing, especially when the author is a novelist exposing us to their creative processes. Amy Tan does that and more in her 2017 Where the Past Begins: A Writer’s Memoir, teased out of her by her editor David Halpern. We also learn Tan’s harrowing family history and struggles with self-doubt. Please come and join our discussion!
