January 22 – 26, 2024 will mark the sixth annual National Gun Violence Survivors Week — a time when we come together to share and amplify the stories and voices of gun violence survivors who live with the impact of gun violence every day of the year.
Every day in America, at least 120 people are shot and killed, more than 200 are shot and wounded, and countless others experience the collective trauma of gun violence. Behind every gun violence statistic are countless stories — of parents who never got to kiss their kids goodbye, gunshot victims living with physical and emotional wounds, entire families heartbroken by gun suicide, or witnesses of gun crimes living with trauma. During National Gun Violence Survivors Week, we take stock of the terrible human toll of America’s gun violence crisis and recommit ourselves to honoring survivors with action.
Please join our Social Justice in Action partner organization, the San Diego For Gun Violence Prevention (SD4GVP) in the core area after our service on Sunday, January 21 to learn more on how we can help in the campaign to end gun violence in our community.
