GREAT NEWS IN RESPONSE TO THE ACLU PETITION
NO TO U.S. IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT’S REQUESTS FOR NOTIFICATIONS AND TRANSFERS
The ACLU was successful in its efforts to maintain the San Diego County sanctuary policy, which limits the use of local resources for immigration enforcement actions. The ACLU demand was for the San Diego Sheriff’s Department to stop using vital county resources to aid federal immigration authorities in detaining and deporting loved ones from our community. The UUFSD Social Justice Action Immigrant Support Program was a partner organization to that effort, signing a petition to Terra Lawson-Remer, our San Diego County Board of Supervisors representative.
