Action relieves anxiety – even climate anxiety! Here are two simple actions you can take this week.
You know that label you see on home appliances, the Energy Star? It allows you to choose an appliance that’s more energy efficient. The Trump administration has moved to eliminate the entire program even though it has saved Americans over $500 billion in energy bills, avoided over 4 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions, and now supports roughly 35% of all energy efficiency jobs in the United States. You can fight this. On the state level, a bill called AB 942 was introduced that will apply to anyone who installed solar before April 2023. According to the Solar Rights Alliance, it would break the State of California’s “net metering” solar contract with consumers and gut the value of the solar system when a home is sold. Read more about it and contact your rep here: https://solarrights.org/blog/2025/05/16/dont-break-the-solar-contract/.
