Ah, Valentine’s Day! Love is in the air, as is the aroma of CHOCOLATE! Yes, we Americans express our love on Cupid’s holiday by purchasing 58 million pounds of chocolate. How romantic! Well, not so much. Turns out that chocolate production “generates large greenhouse gas emissions compared to other foods and frequently relies on exploitative labor practices,” according to Climate Action Now.
Don’t despair, chocoholics. You can learn how chocolate can become more sustainable at a special Valentine’s eve online event hosted by Climate Action Now. It’s free and you can register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/chocoholics-unite-climate-action-party-tickets-1138378383389
