The Social Justice Committee is creating a UUFSD Palestine-Israel Justice Team. All UUFSD members and friends are welcome to join the team.
We are seeking justice, equality and dignity for the people in Palestine and Israel
We seek: A just peace in Palestine-Israel that reflects our UU values of respect for the inherent worth and dignity of every human being and justice, equity and compassion in human relations.
We commit: To work within the UUFSD community to educate and mobilize our members and friends to recognize and counter inequality and injustice in Palestine-Israel and to support our allies in the San Diego area’s justice and anti-oppression communities.
We support: The right of both Palestinians and Israelis to live in peace, freedom, security and dignity. We want our country to play a positive peacemaking role and help ensure that human rights abuses cease for the benefit of all living in the region.
We support: Our local Jewish and Muslim communities and efforts to fight antisemitism and Islamophobia.
Join us in a future meeting to develop actions which may include providing:
A service and forum
Proposals for divesting funds from military support/arms
Support for encampments at San Diego County universities and colleges.
Encourage UU academics to sign a statement in support of student encampments.
