Dear members of the UUFSD community,

Your Search Committee is delighted to introduce you to the Rev. Jo Ann Green, our candidate for settled minister. A brief video introduction from your Search Committee is shown above. Rev Jo

Rev. Jo is a graduate of the Starr King School for the Ministry, and has served UU congregations in Philadelphia and Northumberland, PA, and Cherry Hill, NJ, as affiliated consulting and contract minister. Currently she is the interim minister of the Mission Peak UU Congregation in Fremont, CA (www.mpuuc.org). Among her other credentials, she is a counselor with a master’s degree in counseling education, a medical chaplain, a former union negotiator, and (from her time living in LA) a dues-paying member of the Screen Actors Guild.

Rev. Jo’s website contains more about her and shows some of her sermons.

Rev. Jo has spent many hours with your Search Committee, and we have been impressed by her authenticity, openness, calm demeanor, thoughtfulness, and dedication. Rev. Jo was our unanimous choice from an extremely strong pool of ministers that applied, and we are confident she is the right fit for our Fellowship at this time in our history.

Rev. Jo will be reaching out to the congregation soon via video link to introduce herself, so stay tuned!

We are planning for our UUFSD community to meet and get to know Rev. Jo via Zoom (a video link). This period will include virtual meetings with the Board, the committees, and members of the congregation. Rev. Jo will offer two sermons, on May 3rd and May 10th. The arrangements for this process are being developed and we will keep you informed. This virtual candidating period will begin on April 26th, leading to the congregational vote on May 10th to call Rev. Jo as our settled minister.

This is an exciting time for our Fellowship—some hopeful and positive news amid much anxiety and sorrow. Please join us in welcoming Rev. Jo!

With joy,
Your Search Committee
