YouTube Stream Ending Jan 1st

UUFSD will stop streaming Sunday services live to YouTube starting January 1st. (We will continue our Zoom streaming using the same link.)
We know that some of you enjoy watching the entire service on YouTube later in the day if you miss us on Sunday mornings. We are trying to work out a situation in which members can still do just that. In the interim, please try and join us on Zoom Sundays at 10am if you aren’t able to attend in person.
Here are our reasons for this change:
1. We can’t sing all the hymns in our hymnals if we have a public live stream feed of the service online (even if just for one day) due to copyright infringements.
2. We do not want to put video images of the RE children online. We want families to feel free to come to the front and participate in Time for All Ages without the possibility of being caught on camera. This is a concern for many of our parents.
3. The things people share during Joys and Sorrows are private and sacred. We don’t want to stream them publicly.
What will change:
1. The Zoom link will no longer be located on our website to avoid it being a “public” forum. Instead, you will find the Zoom link in the Newsletter email each week. The Zoom link will not change from what it is currently. You can save the link to reuse or click on it each week in the Newsletter email.
2. Our YouTube channel will feature the sermons only. Sermons are usually uploaded to YouTube within a few days of the service. We may be able to keep specialty services online in their entirety (i.e. Music Sundays) if proper copyrights have been obtained.

Thank you for your understanding during this change. We will keep you updated if we are eventually able to share the full services online through a members only website portal. Please direct any questions to Rev. Heather (heather@uufsd.org).
