H.R. 40 is a bill that would launch a commission to develop reparations proposals to mitigate the ongoing damage from racist federal policies. As a nation, we need to address our past history and current reality of racially-discriminatory federal policies. H.R. 40 is a critical first step. Affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person by calling your US Representative and asking them to support the bill. Sample call script: “Hi. My name is [NAME] and I am a constituent from [CITY, ZIP CODE]. I’m calling to ask Representative [NAME] to support H.R. 40: The Commission to Study and Develop Reparations Proposals for African-Americans Act.
