Our very own Victor Seguritan will share his professional expertise about the promise and problems with Artificial Intelligence. Enjoy the discussion and light lunch.
From Victor: I am a computational biologist by training and have used AI professionally for over a decade in various industries such as finance, genomics, and medicine. As a data scientist, I’ve trained chatbots for document prediction tasks and created machine learning models to predict fraud. Current chatbot architectures are essentially deep neural networks that were originally intended for human discourse. These architectures are also known as Large Language Models or LLMs. For this “Lunch & Learn”, we will explore the basic guts of an artificial neural network, the basic architecture of a chatbot or LLM, the accuracies of chatbots, and the resources used to train these computationally expensive models. Our goal is to understand the strengths and limitations of LLMs in order to better compare them to our own biological neural networks.
