Science in the Kitchen, beginning with Sweet Talk, is a two hour fun experience for young children and their parents. The event is located in the UUFSD Kitchen.

“What did Einstein Tell his Cook?” That is an interesting question. Science Educator and author, Louise Lin Garrett, aka, Dr. Flamingo, will demonstrate with reliable witty explanations of scientific principles how modern gastronomical marvels are possible.

Nothing is more difficult to master in the world than science itself. Science in the Kitchen, explained by Dr. Flamingo, creates in two hours a synergy between food and science with easy to understand demonstrations and explanations.

All you need to know about a molecule is what one of her students told her, “It is a teeny weeny thing that makes up everything and I have never seen one.” The two senses that are actual chemical in nature are smell and taste. So come prepared to have fun and experience smell and taste along with the other senses.

Every third Saturday of the month at 9:30 til 11:30, through the Summer and continuing into the Fall, Dr. Flamingo will present a gastronomical phenomenal from salt, chemicals in the kitchen, to fire and ice.
