Mardi Gras; Shrove Tuesday; Pancake Supper
March 1, 2022, Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday in French)

Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Supper. Mardi Gras is the celebratory carnival that leads up to Lent. The name “Fat Tuesday” refers to the last opportunity of of consuming all the eggs and fats before Lent, but we are just going to have fun and eat. Believe it or not, pancakes date back to cook books in 1439. The ingredients for pancakes can be seen as the four points of significance at this time of the year. Eggs – Creation; Flour – the staff of life; Salt – wholesomeness; Milk – Purity. So come, have some pancakes, get some beads, wear a mask, maybe eat Etouffee, and drink a Hurricane.
