Let’s take a break from the day’s bleak news to read the 2021 novel Better Luck Next Time by Julia Claiborne Johnson.

In the 1930s, a quickie divorce for wealthy women meant spending 6 weeks in Nevada, often on a dude ranch in Reno. This is a funny take on friendship, love, and how the family we create (after we know better) can be stronger than the family we come from.

We will be discussing this 2021 novel at 6:30pm in the Library at UUFSD on Monday, June 13th.

by Kliph Nesteroff

Also written in 2021, this book is both biography and humor, by a writer who is known as a historian of standup comedy. Our date for July is Monday the 11th.
