The 2nd Monday Book Club is back to reading non-fiction this month! Our choice is:
Hope for Cynics: The Surprising Science of Human Goodness (2024) by Jamil Zaki
The author is a professor and director of the Stanford Social Neuroscience Lab.

In 1972, half of Americans agreed that most people can be trusted; but by 2018, only a third did.
Cynicism is an understandable response to injustice and inequality. But in many cases, it is misplaced.
When we expect the worst in people, we often bring it out in them. This author argues that we should
rebalance our view with what he calls Hopeful Skepticism.
