Work is progressing according to plan on the Phase 2 firetruck turnaround, now projected to complete on December 18, barring an extended stretch of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Demolition, excavation, and grading are nearly complete, the last bits of underground pipe and electrical infrastructure are being placed currently, and finish work on the parking lot and accessible pathways should begin in a few weeks. Landscape and finish lighting will follow. Repair of the brick and sidewalk between Founders Hall and the Core Building is wrapping up this week. We’ve found a few surprises digging around this old site adding slightly to cost for remediation, but we are within project budget. There is a weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor meeting on site to address schedule, scope, and cost changes. Your cooperation not to violate the Contractors work boundary is very much appreciated. If you have a need that might require a work modification by the Contractor please work through our Administration staff as a first point of contract. Direct engagement with the Contractor and their sub-contractors is discouraged.
The Administration Building continues behind schedule but we have started to use the space in advance of non-essential work being completed. This allows transition of the Palmer Library to house the Religious Education program. We expect the remodeled and expanded Administration Building to also be complete before the end of the Year.
Please be cautious around all construction activity and alert UUFSD leadership immediately if you see any dangerous or life-threatening situations on campus.
