Climate Action is Unstoppable

The December 23 New York Times newsletter, Climate Forward lists 25 actions the Trump administration took this year to dismantle climate policies. That’s a “partial tally,” according to newsletter author David Gelles, and doesn’t include this week’s latest, that Trump plans to halt five wind farms off of the east coast. It’s enough to make you pull the blankets up over your head. Before you do that, watch Al Gore’s latest TED Talk.

In “Climate Action is Unstoppable — and Climate Realism is a Myth,” the Nobel Laureate dismantles the fossil fuel industry’s narrative of climate realism. Almost 20 years after “An Inconvenient Truth,” Gore focuses on the remarkable advancements in renewable energy. In just 24 minutes Gore gives us a new perspective and challenges us to ditch the despair and roll up our sleeves — a healthy way to start 2026.

Another great way to start 2026 is to join the UUFSD Climate Action Committee meeting on Wednesday, January 7, 7:00 pm via Zoom.
