Climate Conversations

Clean Energy and Environmental Justice

We are grounded in environmental justice. We affirm and promote the framework of race- and class-informed environmental justice and strive to center the leadership and needs of frontline communities. – This is one of the values guiding the UU Ministry for Earth.

We are fortunate here in San Diego to have organizations and experts dedicated to that value. One that we can learn from is the North County Climate Change Alliance. You can join them online on Thursday, November 13, 5:00 pm for “Advancing Clean Energy Initiatives.” Greg Wade, CEO of Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) will discuss CEA’s ongoing strategies to promote clean energy and highlight its commitment to becoming a trusted partner and leader for member cities as they work toward greenhouse gas reduction goals. He will also talk about efforts to ensure that the advantages of clean energy reach all communities served by CEA, including those from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

The meeting is free but you must register in advance. Can’t attend? Catch it later on the NCCCA YouTube channel.

Don’t forget to check in with the Climate Action Committee on December 3, 7:00 pm via Zoom.
