Book: The Log from the Sea of Cortez by John Steinbeck (1951)
Marine biologist Ed Ricketts and the author collect marine specimens in the Gulf of California in the spring of 1940.
The friendship between the two men was important in Steinbeck’s writing as well as in his life. It is said that Steinbeck had a lot to say, and Ricketts made listening an art. But Ricketts was also a mentor to Steinbeck.
