The 2014 Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) General Assembly (GA) approved an Action of Immediate Witness (AIW) Resolution on GVP: Affirming Congregational Commitment to Gun Violence Prevention.

That resolution encouraged each member congregations to adopt and approve their own GVP Resolution. This letter and subsequent letters provide background on AIW’s and a DRAFT resolution for consideration by UUFSD.

The intent is to bring your resolution to our annual congregational meeting for an approval vote at the UUFSD Congregational meeting on 17 June.

In order to provide an open and engaged dialog about the resolution, there will be two open discussion times made available for public review and comment on the proposed resolution on 27 May and 3 June, from 12:30 to 1:00 pm in Palmer Library. The draft(s) will be prominently displayed and available to the congregation on our website, newsletter, the UUFSD office, and public bulletin board.
