Scope

List leaders and planners for active tasks.

Summary

UUBG is a volunteer committee.
Nothing happens until WE DO IT.
WHO DO? YOU DO!
We're the Volunteer Voodoo!

Overview

The difference between a task stuck on the TODO list and one on the way to the DONE list is whether anyone is DOING it!!! This is the page is where those committments are made and progress happens.

To move a Task here from the TODO list requires an action plan - committments by specific people to do specific things by specific dates.

Task Action Plans by Group

These are active tasks of the Buildings & Grounds Committee which is organized as a steering committee and four working groups, described in UUBG-035 Organization: UUFSD B&G Committee.

Each heading consists of a Task ID number (TID-TTT) followed by the Task Title. The TID-TTT is linked to the task's entry in the UUBG-053 Tasks: Master Index. The Task Title is linked back to the table of contents above, like a normal UUBG document heading.

Steering Committee

These are task action plans for the Steering Committee whose ongoing responsibilities are described in UUBG-036 Organization: Steering Committee. Listed in descending TaskID order (newest task first).

There are four outdoor closets on the east wall of the YRUU Building (aka Cathy Schepps Space). The north pair (toward the patio) are used and maintained by Sandy Hill Nursery. The south pair have a lot of Buildings & Grounds junk in them, mostly landscaping stuff, including pesticides. This is particularly distressing since they don't lock or even latch properly.

Greg Brown
(2008-Jun)
[2008-06-20]
Greg Brown is concerned about both the trees there because the memorial wall project will cut into their roots from the west side. Cris Colb (potential contractor) suggested Greg talk to folks at Sunshine Nursery, which he did. Their (free) advice was to trim the tree 3 feet back in all directions to reduce its structural and nutrient load while the roots are recovering.

The section of rock wall to the right of the stage of the amphitheater, just below the speaker pole was constructed in 2006. Several of the rocks, particularly on the top row are loose and constitute a hazard for kids who like to crawl around and sit on them. These need to be cemented firmly in place using an adhesive mortar mix.

The floodlights on the outside of the Kitchen / Nursery building are on various light and motion sensors, several of which do not seem to work well. The lights on the north side tend to be left on all the time and are switched (only?) at a breaker buried in a broom closet. The conduit for these lights runs along the top of the building, right where Ken Schultz is about to put gutters (TID-083 Combat Mold & Mildew @ Nursery). Take all the lights down. Revise the control scheme, rewire and re-install conduit just below the new gutters.
Leader(Due)[Done] Action - Description / Participants / Resources
Robin Mitchell
(2008-June)
[ ]
Analyze and redesign - Diagram existing system. Design new system - may be simpler now that CFL floodlights run on 40 Watts rather than 150 W. Document the system with schematic diagrams, mechanical sketch of installation and bill of materials.

When it rains hard water gets into the kitchen. There is a musty smell in the Nursery. The roof doesn't leak per se, but runoff from the flat roof gets into openings in several walls. Ken proposes solving these problems with flashing and gutters. This addresses much of PID-014 Project: Repair Leaking Kitchen Roof. Robin Mitchell & Stu Anderson will move the conduit that is in the way (see TID-111 Fix Floodlights @ Core Area).
Leader(Due)[Done] Action - Description / Participants / Resources
Ken Schultz
(July)
[2008-07-12]
Add drip flashing - Get ~100 feet of paintable white vinyl-coated steel “drip edge” flashing and push one edge up under the roof flashing on all four sides of building. Secure with small screws at ~3’ spacing.
WHO: PARTICIPANTS
USE: ~$50 materials
Ken Schultz
(July)
[2008-07-12]
Add gutters - Get ~75 feet of paintable white plastic or steel gutter and install on west, south and east sides. North side over patio has an overhang, making gutter unnecessary. Put 2 downspouts on south side into dry wells dug into the flower bed.
WHO: PARTICIPANTS
USE: ~$250 materials
Ken Schultz
