Unitarian Universalists have a long and proud history of community collaboration. UUFSD continues this tradition by partnering with local, regional and international organizations working for social justice and increased compassion in our communities.
Interfaith Worker Justice San Diego
The IWJSD mobilizes for living wages, safe working conditions, a voice on the job, and policies that support working families at work, home, and in our communities.
UURISE provides affordable, trustworthy legal immigration counseling, representation, and resettlement services to marginalized immigrants and refugees; and provides educational advocacy to the larger immigrant community.
Border Angels/Angeles de la Frontera
Border Angels advocates for human rights, humane immigration reform, and social justice with a special focus on issues related to issues related to the US-Mexican border. Border Angels engages in community education and awareness programs that include guided trips to the desert as well as to the border to learn about the history of US-Mexico border policy.
Casas de Luz
Casas de Luz is an ongoing UUFSD Social Action program that brings volunteers together to build houses in Tijuana. A Casas de Luz house is built in one weekend and is typically a 16 ft by 20 ft home, with three rooms and a shingled roof. Other initiatives include active recycling and building community centers in the Colonies of Tijuana.
Encinitas Community Resource Center
Promotes a sense of community, healthy families and responsible, capable individuals. Works to break the cycle of family violence and decrease the number of hungry and homeless people in our community.
Dignity Delivery of San Diego
Dignity Delivery helps our homeless friends by providing them with hygiene and personal care items. A team of volunteers set up tables and provide the homeless with the opportunity to choose those personal items that meet their individual needs.
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence
The Brady Campaign works to pass, enforce, and protect sensible laws and public policy that address gun violence. It engages and activate the public to increase awareness of gun violence through educational campaigns.
Everytown is a movement of Americans working together to end gun violence and build safer communities. For too long, change has been thwarted by the Washington gun lobby and by leaders who refuse to take common-sense steps that will save lives.
Moms Demand Action
Much like Mothers Against Drunk Driving was created to reduce drunk driving, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America was created to demand action from legislators, state and federal; companies; and educational institutions to establish common-sense gun reforms.
North County Immigration Task Force
The NCITF is a coalition of activists, organizations, leaders, and community members who work together to inform the undocumented immigrant working community immigrant community of their rights.
Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry California
The Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry of California assists UU churches and fellowships to develop skills of civic engagement so that we may educate, organize, and advocate for public social justice policies.
