NICOLE CAPRETZ PRESENTS ON SAN DIEGO’S CLIMATE ACTION PLAN 10/27
The Environmental Justice Task Force of UUFSD is hosting a presentation by Nicole Capretz, Founder and Executive Director of the Climate Action Campaign, on San Diego’s Climate Action Plan (CAP) on Sunday October 27, at 12:30 PM at UUFSD,1036 Solana Dr, Solana Beach, CA 92075
Capretz worked with Interim Mayor Todd Gloria to draft the Plan, which was eventually passed under Mayor Faulkner in 2015. San Diego’s CAP is one of the most aggressive climate action plans in the US. It has a binding commitment to eliminate half of all greenhouse gas emissions in the City and aims for all electricity used in the city to be from renewable sources by 2035. There are also ambitious goals for bike/walk/transit, urban tree canopy, and zero waste. Nicole Capretz will tell us about our city’s progress on CAP, how other SoCal cities are doing on their climate action plans, and what you can do to make a difference.
