May 13: Coming of Age
Young people the world over engage in some process of passage from childhood to inclusion as young adults in the larger community. At UUFSD, we call that Coming-of-Age. Our youth have worked hard this year exploring and visiting other faiths (Quaker, Muslim, Greek Orthodox, Buddhist, Mormon, Evangelical Christian, etc) while looking at them through a Unitarian Universalist lens. At this time we come together so the youth can read and declare their statements of personal belief to the congregation. Please come, support and celebrate our youth as they take this important step in our religious history.
Special music by the JRUU youth!

Our Concert will be all about the joy of song! We will be featuring Marylou Gibson in a comedy song, SING!, from “The Chorus Line” and a duet, “How Can I Keep from Singing?” with her daughter, Grace Paxton. Tenor, Rick Hernandez, will be joining the choir in singing songs from the Rennaisance, “Jubilate Deo” by Orlando di Lasso, “Fa Una Canzona” by Orazio Vechhi, Handel’s “Sing For Joy!” as well as more contemporary songs by John Rutter, Frank Ticheli and Joseph Martin. The Youth choir will sing “Sing, Sing A Song” from Sesame Street, complete with scat singing. This concert is guaranteed to put a smile of joy on your face. Please join us!
