Critics call Touched with Fire an extraordinarily sensitive, nonjudgmental exploration of bipolar disorder and creativity. The film stars Katie Homes and Luke Kirby as two poets whose art is fueled by their emotional extremes. They pursue their passion which breaks outside the bounds of sanity, swinging them from fantastical highs to tormented lows until they ultimately must choose between sanity and love.
Dinner Discussion: John M. Kelsoe, Jr., MD, a UCSD psychiatrist, researcher and professor shares insight on current research associated with bipolar disorder. Dr. Kelsoe is known for his longstanding focus on the genetics of psychiatric illness and bipolar disorder in particular.

Dear wonderful UUFSD members and friends:
You are invited to participate in “Brunch Team 6 and 7 combined” to help make the UUFSD May 21th FUNdraising Brunch a success! You will have received an email invitation if your last name is between A-E. If you have not participated this year and want to help and didn’t receive an email invitation, that’s ok. We are all volunteers and maybe we got your email wrong. Everyone is of course welcome to EAT at the brunch and donate funds the day of the brunch. The Brunch program benefits committees and programs. Anyone is welcome to help in the kitchen:
SAVE THE DATE: The brunch is scheduled for May 21, 2017. Help is needed to bring potluck food, to help set out food, clean up, or take turns greeting and collecting donations.
Summary of the two Services Brunch day:
Drop off of potluck items by 9:30 am. Set up team helps from 9:30 – 10 am.
Gathering Hour Brunch runs from 10 am – 11 am.
Second Shift team puts out potluck dishes for Second Service at 12:15
Final Clean up team starts to clean up around 1 pm.
If you have questions, concerns, or do not wish to participate, please let Alison know. Your “no” is as sacred as your “yes.”
Many thanks to the choir who hosted the last brunch in March and to Debbie and volunteers who threw together a beautiful Easter brunch in lieu of a fundraiser for April. The Choir put together a helpful signup sheet and for their event had so many helping hands which made such a beautiful day that we decided to do the last May brunch as a combined team of 6 and 7 (basically these are last names from A to E in the Fellowship Directory). Many hands make light work!
We hope everyone from A-Z has had an opportunity to help at a fellowship brunch at least once this year and we look forward to another year of fellowship and FUN-draiser brunches next year. If you would like to help with this program then contact email@example.com; firstname.lastname@example.org. (Does gathering around delectable dishes in fellowship for fundraising light your fire?) If so, we love your enthusiasm and we would love to hear from you about next year!
